Noumea, New Caledonia

New Caledonia, another island discovered by Capt. Cook in the South Pacific, turned out to be quite a surprise. A lovely, lively island, there are lots of discos, restaurants, and beautiful beaches. It is very French and there is next to no crime. We arrived around 10:00 a.m. and our tour wasn't until 1:00, so we set out to see the shopping area near the ship. There was a nice department store and many little souvenir shops. Mike bought his t-shirt and we did a lot of browsing. After lunch we boarded Le Petit Train for a ride around the entire island. We saw just about everything......even a bride and groom coming out of city hall. A wonderful day!
