Richards Bay, South Africa

Our one day safari to the Zulu Nyala Private Game Reserve was incredible. After a two hour bus ride, we arrived at the lodge and boarded our land rovers. Two and a half hours of game drive and we saw so many animals. We were closer to the elephants than we have ever been. We drove around looking for the cheetah, who is one of 3 and wears a collar so they can track her. She is pregnant and they are hoping to increase the population. Of course the impala are not too thrilled with that. We saw wart hogs, water buffalo, zebras, small crocodiles and finally a giraffe, as we were leaving the park. We had to stop for some road construction and bought fruit from the vendors along the roadside. The women carry their wares in their hands and on their heads. The bananas were delicious and just what we needed for the long drive back to the ship.

  1. You are very brave getting that close to those wild animals. The crocodiles ate that big animal. Much different from San Diego "Wild Animal Park" for sure. It looks like such a rare and wonderful experience.
